16 – Tayo Edun
An England Under-19 European Championship winner, Tayo Edun had played senior football for Fulham and on loan at Ipswich Town before signing a two-and-a-half-year Lincoln deal in January 2020, with the fee undisclosed. His time here brought opportunities in midfield and at left-back before Blackburn Rovers paid around £550,000 to take him into the Championship in August 2021. Two years at Ewood Park were followed by moves to Charlton Athletic and Peterborough United, then a two-year contract with Stockport County in June 2025.
Watching him drift in and out of the Stockport, Charlton and Peterborough teams makes it difficult to remember what a monster he was for us. Thanks to the pandemic, few got to see him live, but I remember those first few games before he left for Blackburn, with fans in the stadium. He had energy, athleticism and great technique, and he looked a cut above much of the 2021/22 side. We turned a big profit as well, making him a super signing.
