14 – Lasse Sorensen
Lasse Sorensen is remembered as not only a good footballer, but a decent bloke with a likeable energy. His final season as a Stoke City player was spent on loan at MK Dons, where he made 34 appearances before we signed him for an undisclosed fee in July 2021. Across three seasons at Lincoln, he played 136 times and scored ten goals, including his strike from inside his own half at Wycombe Wanderers.
Lasse might have been higher up on this list had he not played in two poor seasons, 2021/22 and 2022/23. He might not have been on it at all had he not excelled in 2023/24. His first season, he was a bit part player, a central midfielder rarely trusted in the first team. Mark Kennedy stumbled into playing him at right wing-back, and a legend was born. His 11 shots against Charlton in our 3-1 win on Appleton’s return was probably a high moment, marking his transition from average signing to top 20 material.
Huddersfield Town secured his signature in June 2024, paying around £500,000 and giving him a three-year contract. Sadly, under Martin Drury, he appears to have been largely sidelined, appearing only in cup competitions this season.
