Lincoln City were linked with a huge number of players this summer, with a handful signing.
Of course, there were plenty who did not, and so we’ve decided to look back over some of those players to see exactly where they are now, and how they’re doing at their current club.
We may as well start with two we targeted over the summer who scored this weekend in the Championship.
Barney Stewart
We were definitely interested in Stewart before Mikkel Ladefoged joined, but the price got a little out of our league, and he eventually joined West Brom for a five-figure salary and a seven-figure fee. Bear in mind, he’d previously played for Falkirk; it might have seemed like a risk to break the bank, even if he was a big target for the club. The issue was not the fee, but the wages.
The 22-year-old has taken his time to settle, as Mikkel has for us, and is currently on two starts and eight appearances from the bench for the Baggies. He’s played 227 minutes in total, and scored once, a tap-in after a save fell to his feet against Blackburn this weekend.
