James Meredith
The rumour mill had us strongly linked with Ben Coker in the summer; I mean strongly. Various people told me he’d moved to the city and was close to a deal, but as yet that hasn’t happened. It might be that we’re waiting on his rehabilitation, it might be that a whole load of different people were wrong. If they were, we might need left-sided cover.
In that instance, James Meredith is a free agent. This one is interesting as he recently had his contract terminated by Millwall. We know Danny has a good relationship with Neil Harris, which prompted me to add him to this list.
Meredith is an Australian left back, capped twice by his country. As well as Millwall he counts Shrewsbury and Bradford amongst his former clubs. He’s also very versatile; he can play central defence or in midfield and would solve a couple of cover issues at once.
