Stephen Hendrie

Hendrie is a left back who can operate in central defence, so would not only add a full back option but also a left-footed centre back option as well. In that respect, he would be a great fit for the squad.
He would be the sort of player we might turn to if the Ben Coker thing does prove to be a non-starter, ironic really as he’s most recently been with Southend and covered for Coker when he got his injury. He’s played for Hamilton before bagging a move to West Ham, but he didn’t break through for the Hammers.
He was capped up to Under 21 level by Scotland, but has fallen to one side since his move south of the border. At 24-years-old he’s perhaps young enough to work with and would be more likely to fit into our budget as well.
