The tone was set for our biggest home win of the EFL-era inside three minutes as Jack Moylan reacted quickest to a loose ball on the edge of the area and rifled it into the roof of the net. From there, the press was relentless. Cambridge tried to play out, we hunted in packs, and when Ethan Erhahon won possession high up the pitch, Moylan was on hand again to finish clinically for 2-0. The early goals removed any doubt and allowed us to dictate the tempo, moving the ball with confidence while restricting Cambridge to half chances at best.

The third arrived soon after the restart, Danny Mandroiu producing a delicious outside of the boot cross for Joe Taylor to convert, and Taylor soon had his second when Moylan broke clear and slipped him in to dink over the advancing keeper. With the game stretched, the fifth came from TJ Eyoma, a close-range finish following a corner, before Dylan Duffy’s persistence ensured a sixth late on. By the time the final whistle blew, the margin reflected the control, intensity and ruthlessness shown throughout.
