14/02/2026, Lincoln City 1-1 Bolton Wanderers, 3.44

City’s 1-1 draw with Bolton Wanderers was a contest that felt controlled for long stretches, yet ultimately slipped from our grasp in the closing stages. The Imps began with real intent, Moylan rattling the bar inside two minutes before testing Bonham again as we forced early openings. After a bruising spell in midfield, the breakthrough arrived on 25 minutes, Hackett’s clever lay-off allowing Moylan to open his body and guide a precise finish into the bottom corner. It was no more than City deserved, and by the interval we had matched aggression with craft, restricting Bolton to sporadic threats while looking the more cohesive side in possession.
The second half followed a similar pattern, City probing and creating without quite finding the killer blow. Moylan was again central, forcing a fine save before Draper and Street were both denied in a frantic sequence that could have put the game to bed. Instead, Bolton punished the missed chances. With eight minutes left, Erhahon’s deep delivery was met by Dalby, who rose to head beyond Wickens and level the scores. A late Hackett strike was beaten away as we searched for a winner, but the whistle confirmed a draw that felt frustrating rather than fair. On balance of chances and territory, it was an afternoon where the Imps did enough to win, yet were left to reflect on what might have been.
