James Brown
On loan: January to May 2019, joined 17 January
Parent club: Millwall
Right-back James Brown joined us midway through the 2018/19 title-winning campaign, having previously spent time on loan at Carlisle United and Livingston. The Millwall academy graduate made no league appearances for the Imps, leaving him with one of the less visible loan spells of that successful season.
I guess to be forgotten, you need to be remembered in the first place, and Brown came in as cover for Neal Eardley, and was never needeed. It’s that simple. Very few people will recall him being with us, but he actually went on to play for his country.
First, he moved to St Johnstone, initially on loan in January 2021 before signing permanently that summer. He was part of the squad that won both Scottish cups in 2021 and also went on to represent Malta at international level. He joined Marine in September 2024, but the club confirmed his departure on 10 May 2026; a subsequent club has not been verified.
