Lincoln City have had huge success with loan signings, with Brennan Johnson and Morgan Rogers being the obvious two.
Brooke Norton-Cuffy and Morgan Whittaker went on to better things as well, and a loan spell with the Imps certainly seems to be a potential route to further success.
Sadly, that isn’t always the case. Sometimes, a loan player comes in full of promise, but doesn’t make an impact. Sometimes, they come in and impress, only to disappear, never to be seen again.
With that in mind, I wanted to look at a handful of loan signings who made an impression, but simply drifted from view after their time with Lincoln City.

Bailey Cadamarteri
On loan: 2024/25, joined 28 August 2024
Parent club: Sheffield Wednesday
Bailey Cadamarteri arrived at Sincil Bank with Championship experience already behind him, having broken into Sheffield Wednesday’s first team as a teenager. The striker scored eight goals in 31 appearances across all competitions during his loan with us, including five in League One. A groin injury disrupted the second half of his season and eventually ruled him out for the remainder of the campaign.
Cadamarteri returned to Wednesday for the 2025/26 season before joining Wrexham permanently in February. He signed a contract running until 2029 and remains with the Championship club. Having represented England at youth level, he has also become a senior Jamaica international.
I suppose you could argue he isn’t a forgotten loan signing, but in the grand scheme of things, I think he is. He started well for us but faded, and the injury ruled him out at the end of the season, and while he has the international experience, he’s failed to set the world on fire at Wrexham.
