Ah, one of the old favourites. Along with Lee Angol, Michael Bridges and Danny Hylton, his name popped up so many times.
Fans wanted him because he scored a lot for Dover, then a move to Posh followed. Putting his personal demons aside, he seemed like a top player destined for the Football League, but he was never the Cowley profile for a centre forward.
We were linked, and Danny put the rumours to bed. Big fees, wages and the fact that we were talking to Peterborough about players in general, not Miller.
Besides, personal issues loomed large, and Danny always said you had one spot for a disruptive, troubled player who might explode into greatness. We had Billy Knott, and Miller drifted back into non-league football.
