Nathaniel Chalobah
Nathaniel Chalobah arrived on the scene as one of Chelsea’s brightest academy prospects, captaining England youth sides and eventually earning a senior England cap after years of development through high-profile loans at Watford, Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough and Reading. He also spent time in Serie A with Napoli before establishing himself in the Premier League with Watford and later adding further Championship experience with Fulham, West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield Wednesday. Few midfielders outside the top flight can match his depth of experience, having played in the Premier League, Championship, Serie A and for England, while his ability to operate as a defensive midfielder or deeper central player has kept him relevant deep into his career.
Despite limited appearances during the 2025/26 season, Chalobah still demonstrated the composure and technical quality that have defined his career. He averaged 37.2 passes per 90 minutes with an excellent 85.3 per cent completion rate, alongside more than 15 duels and over nine recoveries per game.
Although injuries restricted his impact, the underlying numbers still reflected an experienced midfielder capable of controlling possession and contributing defensively at Championship level, which is something we may be looking to add.
