Max Sanders
Max Sanders remained at Lincoln for one more season before leaving at the end of his contract in 2023. He was a forgotten man under Appleton, frozen out along with Sean Roughan for much of the 2021/22 season.
After the Imps, Leyton Orient was his next destination, followed by a move to Crewe Alexandra in July 2024, taking him to the club we had beaten on Appleton’s final afternoon. After two seasons with Crewe, Sanders rejected a new contract and agreed to join Notts County in the summer of 2026. He signed a two-year deal with the option of a further season, giving him another opportunity to build on the experience accumulated since his departure from City.
