Michael Appleton’s Last Lincoln City Squad: Where Are They Now?

Tom Hopper

Tom Hopper became Lincoln captain after Appleton’s departure, but that hung like a millstone around his neck, hampering our efforts to bring in a striker. His time at Sincil Bank ended with a move to Colchester United in January 2023. Two years later, he returned to Southend United, where he helped win the FA Trophy during his final season before bringing his playing career to an end in 2026.

Hopper has since joined Skelland Brown Management, the company that represented him, initially working in player recruitment while studying for a law degree and working towards his football agent’s licence. The striker whose header began Appleton’s final comeback is now helping players from the other side of the negotiating table.
