Hakeeb Adelakun
Hakeeb Adelakun’s spectacular winner did not lead to a sustained breakthrough at Lincoln, and he spent the following season on loan at Gillingham. Another loan, this time to Doncaster Rovers in January 2024, proved much more productive, with his performances earning him the League Two Player of the Month award for February.
Released by City that summer, Adelakun subsequently played for Salford City and had a short spell at Cheltenham Town before returning permanently to Doncaster in January 2026. He signed an 18-month contract, taking him back to the club where he had enjoyed such an impressive revival.
