The Ten Players Who Always Scored Against Lincoln City

1 – Bedford Jezzard, 10 appearances, 10 goals

Bedford Jezzard’s early club connection was Watford, where he was attached as a young player during the war years, but his professional Football League career properly belonged to Fulham. He played for Fulham from 1948 to 1957, scoring heavily in the league and becoming one of the club’s major post-war forwards. Injury ended his playing career earlier than it might have done, but he remained closely tied to the club and later managed it from 1958 to 1964.

I know we’re going back a bit here, but Jezzard was a terror to us in his prime. It’s not even like we’re talking hat tricks here – he scored his ten across seven games. His first came in 1949 as we lost 3-0 at home, his last in 1956 as we lost 3-0 away. We only won twice against Fulham in that period, with one of those wins 4-2 in 1954, and he scored. Both him and Haynes netted in three fixtures against us, December 1953, April 1954 and March 1956. Ouch.
