9 – James Norwood, 20 appearances, 6 goals
James Norwood had a brief early Football League spell with Exeter City from 2009 to 2011, but much of his rise came after productive years outside the League with Forest Green Rovers and Tranmere Rovers. Ipswich Town brought him back into the EFL in 2019, and he scored regularly enough there to remain a League One forward of interest. Barnsley followed in 2022–23, then Oldham Athletic and Fleetwood Town took him into the later stages of a career built on persistence as much as finishing.
Against Lincoln, he’s always come across as a bit of a cock. We’re not his favourite prey: he’s scored nine in matches against Aldershot Town, but like Disley, he’s turned out 20 times against us. Five of his goals came in the National League: two for Forest Green in our 3-3 draw in 2014, and two in their 4-1 win a year before. He scored against us for Tranmere in 2016, then in the league for the same opponent in 2018.
