The Ten Players Who Always Scored Against Lincoln City

As Lincoln City fans, we all know the players who seem to score against us. Lee Thorpe always did, Jack Lester loved a goal against us, as did James Norwood.

With some players, it just seemed inevitable, didn’t it? You always felt Jayden Stockley could get a goal against you, even though in reality, it wasn’t the case. With Stockley, it was, he scored five against us, as did Keanu Marsh-Brown, another irritating player for us.

As we look towards fixture release day, we’re likely to see a lot of new faces who haven’t scored against us before, so just for the horror of it, I thought I’d list the players who have scored the most goals against the Imps, according to Transfermarkt stats. Where players are tied, those with a better ratio are highest.

I’d say enjoy, but you won’t, trust me.

10 – Craig Disley, 20 appearances, 6 goals

Craig Disley started in the Football League with Mansfield Town, making his senior breakthrough from 1999 to 2004 and helping the club win promotion in the early part of that decade. Bristol Rovers then got the best of his prime years between 2004 and 2009, before Shrewsbury Town signed him for a shorter, more injury-hit spell from 2009 to 2011. Grimsby Town became his defining later club from 2011 to 2017, with his time there spanning their National League years and their return to the EFL.

Disley played more times against the Imps than any other club, turning out against us on 20 occasions. He loved a goal as well: he bagged five for the Codheads in the National League, all in successive fixtures between Boxing Day 2012 and Boxing Day 2014. He had already scored against us in the EFL, netting for Bristol Rovers in the 2006/07 play-offs.
