Whatever Happened To The Last Lincoln City Team To Beat Sheffield United?

Tony Battersby

Tony Battersby agreed a new three-year contract with us in 2001, but his Lincoln career ended in October 2002 when a severance package was arranged. He joined Boston United and scored on both his cup and league debuts, before spells at Hucknall Town, Rushden & Diamonds and Stevenage Borough. His long non-league career included a particularly successful stay at Grays Athletic, where he helped win the Conference South title and FA Trophy in 2005, followed by moves to AFC Wimbledon, Chelmsford City and numerous other clubs.

There were later appearances for several familiar local sides, including Stamford, Deeping Rangers, Grantham Town and Spalding United, before a final spell with Boston Town in 2015/16.
