Jason Barnett
Jason Barnett was another of the established players whose departure came as we cut costs in the summer of 2002, ending a Lincoln career that had produced 207 league appearances and six goals. He stayed locally by joining Lincoln United, but injury curtailed his career and he went on to work in the Prison Service.
There were still further appearances to come, initially with Cottesmore Amateurs in late 2004 and then back in semi-professional football with Spalding United in September 2005. That move reunited him with Steve Welsh, his former defensive colleague at Sincil Bank, who was managing the Tulips at the time. He later worked in a taxi rank in Lincoln, and is often seen playing golf with the FPA.
