Whatever Happened To The Last Lincoln City Team To Beat Sheffield United?

Paul Smith

Paul Smith remained with City until 2003, when a back injury forced him to retire from professional football after 157 league appearances and 18 goals for us. He returned to playing in August 2004 with Ilkeston Town, where he linked up again with Phil Stant, although his back problems prompted another retirement before treatment allowed him to resume his career.

A move to Sheffield FC in 2006 brought further frustration when he dislocated his shoulder on his debut and missed the rest of the season. He subsequently joined Glapwell in 2007, helped them win promotion and left the following summer because of work commitments.
