John Akinde’s fee was undisclosed, but it was later revealed he was a club record purchase in the club accounts. This is perhaps the first deal where the fee rose to a total, rather than being reported as a record at the start of the deal. That will have included a promotion bonus, as Akinde’s goals helped us to the League Two title.
