What I really like about Peter Grotier is that he was the first example of the fans coming together to buy a player. The fact it was a club record makes the purchase even more impressive.
He signed from West Ham, and he went on to be one of the most successful Lincoln City goalkeepers of all time, playing more than 250 matches and winning the Division Four title in 1976.
